Cajon Pass Interstate 15 road conditions

I have added I-15 Cajon Pass road conditions To the site. Right now I have included some basic information that will take some of the guess work out of traveling the Cajon Pass between the Inland Empire and the high desert of San Bernardino County, California. I will add to it as I turn up more resources. I have lived in the high desert for eleven years, and discovered early on that it is near to impossible to get any information about road and weather conditions in the pass, much less find anything accurate.

CalTrans has a totally useless road condition phone number that never has up to date information. You would be better off consulting a psychic. I have been clobbered by snow storms and driven through fires enough times that I am sharing some of the ways I find out if the pass is open and safe to travel. As amazing as this is to me, I have not found any non-emergency phone number to call the California Highway Patrol for this information outside of normal business hours, and it’s not for lack of trying. I appreciate any resources, tips, or hints that you can give me to help make this page as complete as possible. The information automatically updates so that it’s as accurate, and as real time as possible.
